For more information and awesome write up about the 2011 Honda Fit Please visit the top car portal AllAboutAuto.us

Q: What’s the lowest discount price I can ask for when buying a *NEW* 2011 HONDA Fit ?
I need help buying this car. MSRP is @ $17,710. How much lower can I get it to be? What SHOULD I be paying for it? Any help would be great. Thanks !!!

A: The Fit is the most popular car in the most popular class of cars, it is unlikely you will get any discounts unless you are an expert negotiator, and are willing to put a full day into wearing down the sales staff. Even then, it is unlikely, because they know they can get full price from the next person to walk in.

Q: 2011 HONDA Fit – car buying help?
I was wondering how much of a discount do you think I could get on a brand new 2011 HONDA Fit (AUTOMATIC) MSRP priced @ $17,710.? Is it possible to get it down to like $14,500-$15,000? I’m hoping that’s the case. Any tips or advice? Any help would be great. Thanks !!! =)

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: 2011 Honda fit or 2011Suzuki SX4 Hatchback?
I am looking to finance a car. I am looking at the 2011 Honda Fit Or the 2011 Suzuki SX4 Hatchback
i want a car with good gas mileage All wheel drive is nice but is it worth the gas sacrifice?
and i want to be able to haul people and gear.

The Suzuki Sx4 gets 25-30 mpg but has all wheel drive
The honda fit gets 45-52 mpg but is only Front wheel drive
The FIT can fit more stuff, the sx4 can but not nearly as much…

so which one is the best overall and if you have driven one or own one i would like feedback.
thanks in advance

A: They are both good cars. The Fit will hold its value better, but the SX-4 comes with a better warranty, is available with AWD and is less expensive when comparably equipped.
Both are very reliable and recommended by Consumer Reports.

I suggest you look at the Fit specs again. They don’t get anything close to 45/52 mpg.
More like 27/35.

Q: What size tire will fit on 17′ rims on my stock 2011 honda civic?
I want to buy 17′ rims and I am trying to estimate my total costs and I want to know what size tires should I put on my 2011 honda civic without the tires rubbing

A: For rims that are 17×7, 17×7.5, 17x 18 for a honda civic 215/45R17 is the perfect tire size. These tires are known as performance tires cause there so low profile. You can get these ultra high performance all season tires anywhere from 500-1000$ depends what brand you go with. As for the tires rubbing against your car that depends up to the width of the rim and if the rim is hitting against the wheel well but you should be fine. Like I said these tires are pretty low profile and you can’t get any smaller or bigger this is the recommended size.

Q: Is the Honda Fit a “girl” car?
I’m a guy in college and I am looking at the 2011 Honda Fit Sport. It is very nice, 120 hp, 27/33 mpg and a lot of good features.

But can a guy drive this car or is it for women?

A: i love the little Honda Fits. they are great on gas, have tons of space, and are very reliable.

I’ve never heard of any one calling it a girl’s car.

Q: Mazda 2 VS. Honda Fit?
The car I drive now is 23 years old and I finally have the opportunity to get a new car. It needs to be small, reliable and economic. I’ve come down to choosing between the 2011 Honda Fit and the 2011 Mazda 2. I like the way the Mazda 2 looks better, but I have to go on more than that. They seem to get similar ratings with the Mazda 2 just a little behind the Honda Fit. So I need your expert advice on which you think should be a better car.

Also, does anyone know much about the Mazda 2, how reliable they might be or if they will be expensive to get fixed sometime down the road? I personally like the Mazda 2 better, but like I said, it’s mostly just for ascetic reasons and because it’s a little smaller. I’m going to be doing A LOT of commuting in this car, so it needs to be able to handle a lot of miles. Part of me keeps going back to the Honda Fit, just for the fact it’s a Honda and they have a great reputation for being reliable. Thanks!

A: I am also in the market for this kind of car. Both cars are reliable and well made. I think the mazda is more comfortable and is fun to drive. Test drive them both and get the one you like best. Life is short you don’t need to buy everything based on economics alone. Its not like your making an extravagant purchase either way , get what you like the best.

Q: Honda Fit Spoiler question. Help please ?
I recently bought a honda fit that was a base model (meaning that its just comes with standard parts) I was reluctant to buy the Honda Fit SPORT because of the price. My question is the spoiler for older models (Honda Fit 2007-2010) fit on a Honda Fit 2011? Thank you for your time and answers

a spoiler is the wing in the back of the car. Only honda fit SPORT has it

A: The spoiler from the 2009 and 2010 model years should fit the 2011. The 2007 and 2008 were a previous generation, and I highly doubt the spoiler from those years will fit the 2011.

Q: How many cubic feet is a carton of eggs?
I’m trying to win a contest, how many cartons of eggs fit in a 2011 Honda fit. Normal egg cartons. So I either want to know the answer or just cubic feet of a carton

A: about 280

Q: Would I have to pay extra tax if I bought a new car in Tennessee and live in GA? If yes how much?
I want to buy a 2011 Honda fit and found a great deal in Tennessee. Trying to figure out if it would be worth it or not.

A: You will only pay taxes once (for the state you will be registering the car in, so GA). I have never heard of a dealer charging an out-of-state fee, so you should be fine.

Q: Does any one know if the headlights and taillights from 2009-2010 Honda Accord the same as a 2011?
I’m looking to replace my headlights and taillights to after market on my 2011 Honda Accord Sedan. Every dealer I have found that sells them can’t tell if the 09-10 models will fit an 2011. They look exactly the same from all the pictures I have referenced. I would hate to risk spending the money to find out they don’t fit for some reason. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

A: No don’t waste ur money. I have an ‘09 accord and the tail lights are different. On the ‘08-’10 the taillights are flat smooth to the body and the white stripe on the red taillight in on the top. The ‘11 accord tail lights are actually bulky/shape off the car and the white stripe of the white is on the bottom. But the taillights are the same, but after market taillights are very expensive just wait two or three years and it will be cheaper =)

Q: Why are mugen products expensive?
I go to different retailers online and all of their mugen brand products are way high. The 2011 honda fit “mugen” grill is $315 after market, and don’t get me started on dealership prices. Is mugen supposed to be exotic or something?

A: I believe Mugen parts are imported from Japan. They also are usually engineered for specific applications. Combine the cost of engineering, cost of importing, the fact that you are looking for aftermarket parts on a relatively new model, and the huge amount of popularity of Mugen parts, and you are left with a larger price. From what I have experienced, Mugen parts are indeed worth the extra cost for engine components. As for the grill, your paying for the name rather than the actual engineering.

Q: how much will the registration on my car cost?
i have a 2011 Honda fit sport the car was $20,000 first owner of the car i live in Denver, co can anyone help

A: Varies from province to province, where you live (What area of the city). But I would guess no more than $50

Q: New car buying decision advice?
2011 Toyota Yaris 3dr Liftback, 2011 Honda Fit, 2011 Nissan Versa 1.8S, 2011 Mazda2 Sport, 2011 Chevy Aveo5, 2011 Ford Fiesta SE, 2011 Hyundai Accent GL?

Which one of these would you pick, and why? If anybody knows any 2010-2011 U.S. models cheaper than these I’m open to suggestions.

A: Unfortunately, there are no “U.S. models” in the subcompact arena — the Chevy Aveo is the cheapest of any of these, but it isn’t actually built in America.

Others to look at: Kia Forte, Scion xB, and possibly the Mitsubishi Lancer.

Of the ones you listed, it depends on what you are after. Fit and Mazda2 will be sportiest, most “fun” to drive. Kia, Hyundai, and Chevy will be the cheapest, if that is your primary concern. Honda and Toyota will cost slightly more to insure (not substantially so), but will be more reliable than the others. Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Nissan are second tier reliability, so still very good choices.

Q: are all car hood latches standard?
In other words will a hood latch from a 2005 Honda Civic fit a 2011 Civic.
Will a 2005 Civic fit a 2005 Accord
Will a 2005 civic fit a 2010 BMW
Please provide some form of reference source.

A: No they vary from manufacturer.

Q: Should we lease a car or get a used car?
we have had our bad luck with used cars and currently looking for a car.

in the past we have gotten cars on craigslist or auctions. although you can sometimes find great deals on them, we have not. so today we(my bf and i) went car shopping. we wanted to get an auto loan. we do not have jobs but we are full time students and in the reserves so we are getting paid monthly. its just the loans and dealerships do not count that as income. once we get a car we plan on looking for part time jobs and still go to school.

we have a co signer. our budeget on a used car was 12,000. 3,000 down payment. we want 200 or lower on a monthly payment. we found a scion xb(box car) for 12,000. 60,000 miles on it and 260 a month. the guy at the dealership said we can fianance a car honda civic or fit 2011. about 18,000-20,000. and under 200 payment with a 3,000 down payment.

we have never bought a car from a dealership. what is the best thing to do? Thank you!!

A: well what I’m actually doing is leasing a 2011 Scion xB. my payments are only $199.24 and that was with a down payment of only $1500. my credit was at the 2nd highest tier that Toyota has so that sure helped, but if you have a co-signer and $3000 to put down you should get a very good price. trust me, they’ll work their asses off to make sure they put you in a car at a good price. in the contract you’ll actually have the option to buy it for a cheaper price then they’d sell it for to another person if you just returned it at the end of the lease. so hope this helps.

Q: Volkswagen routan…insurance?
We are looking to lease the new routan and wondered what insurance was looking like for those of you who have one already….I would really appreciate it…thanks!

A: Help yourself – you can check your quotes in internet, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: What are the demographics of Volkswagen owners?
I am looking to find out what the demographics are for people that own or lease Volkswagen. If possible, the demographics for Routan or CC models.

A: Same as any other car.

Practically any age, sex, or race.

People buy cars. I’ve seen a 60 year old woman driving a Toyota Supra.

And a 16 year old kid want a minivan.

Demographics for such things, are pretty much pointless.

Q: VW Routan Question…?
My family and I need a new Minivan, with 7 passenger capacity and big (not small) trunk. Ive reduced our options to three: The Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, And the Volkswagen Routan. I REALLY love Volkswagen and i Loved the Routan when i saw it. Is there anything i might need to know about it before i buy it? Anything bad? Of so, Which of the others should i pick?

A: Stick with the Traverse and the Acadia and add the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna to your shopping list.
My personal favorite in this category is the Mazda CX-9 because it is the perfect blend of reliability, functionality and it looks the best.

The Routon is a reliability nightmare.

Q: Does this sound like a fraud car dealer?
The car is a 2009 VOLKSWAGEN ROUTAN 23K MILES, ONLY-$8900 it comes with dvd and GPS and here is the description for the car ALRIGHT, I’LL ADMIT IT; MY WIFE AND I WERE NOT MINIVAN FANS…..UNTIL I BROUGHT THIS 2009 VW ROUTAN SEL HOME! I HAVE TO SAY, IT DRIVES BEAUTIFULLY, SPACE UTILIZATION IS INCREDIBLE, FIT/FINISH ARE IMPECCABLE, AND THERE ARE TONS OF GREAT FEATURES FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY). THIS ONE IS A “10”, WITH ZERO PREVIOUS PAINT OR BODYWORK, INCREDIBLE CONDITION EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR, AND IS MECHANICALLY 100%. FULL WARRANTY, LOADED WITH EVERY OPTION, AND NO STORIES. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GET IN AND DRIVE. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER COMBINATION OF MECHANICALS, COSMETICS, MAINTENANCE, AND PRICE ANYWHERE. SO KNOW I DON’T KNOW IF THIS IS A SCAM BECAUSE A VOLKSWAGON FOR 8,900 I NEED YOUR HELP THANKS

PS: They are also saying they will pay for the shipping and the payment is made by ebay The payment will be made to eBay Classifieds and they will hold the payment until you will receive and approve the car. Only after you receive and inspect the car they will forward the payment to me.

A: There have been thousands of warnings published on this and other web sites, but if you’re so stupid that you think it can’t happen to you then go ahead and send them your money and see what happens.

For more information and awesome write up about the Suzuki Kizashi Please visit the top car portal AllAboutAuto.us

Q: where can I rent a suzuki Kizashi in Northern california for a week?
I don’t know if car rental companies carry the kizashi’s?

A: Well I searched alot but fail to find companies that offer Suzuki Kizashi. Though if you want to hire any other car then you can hire from reputed companies like

http://www.pointcarhire.com/
hertz
Thrifty
Budget

http://www.usacarsrental.com/

Q: When are the suzuki kizashi concept coming out?
i want to know when this car is coming out in america/china? also i would like to know the starting price on this car. Its a really nice car! its only been in the auto shows so i dont know? can u help me

A: it comes out in -9 months (Dec 2009). And it starts at 20,000 (19000 base price and 800 delivery) is says so on their website.

Q: Which is better: Suzuki Kizashi or Chevy Cruze?
I’m looking for a decent looking regular RED car and I narrowed down the choices to those two. Is there any other car brand that’s better/comparable to these? I also considered buying a second-hand car instead of a new one, so any suggestions of a good brand for a second-hand?

A: I’d go with the Cruze out of the two choices you listed. To add more to the list; look at the Ford Focus. Both Chevy and Ford have made major leaps in engineering and they’re really starting to come out with quality smaller cars. I like the looks of the redesigned Focus but I think the Cruze looks better. The Cruze has actually been around in Australia since ‘08 so it’s really not a “new” car, all the kinks have been worked out. I wouldn’t be afraid of getting it based on it being a “first year model”. I personally don’t like the looks of anything coming out of Japan or Asia but a lot of people will tell you that they are great quality cars and I’m sure they are, but I’ll take a Chevy or Ford over a Honda, Suzuki any day. The only exception being a Toyota. I like the Corolla for a small compact car.

Q: VW jetta vs suzuki kizashi?
so, im going to be buying a new car in a few months, and ive got two choices. 2011 vw jetta, or the 2011 suzuki kizashi. what do you guys think? I like them both, so far ive only test driven the jetta. i liked the way it felt, and the inside felt upscale and good quality. suzuki has a kind of bad reputation, but i heard theyve changed a lot in the past few years. the kizashi comes with a lot of standard features that normally cost a lot extra on other cars.. what do you guys think? experiences, links, etc are all welcome. thanks!

A: The Suzuki is cheap and they offer a lot of upscale options for that price for one reason. They have to. In order to compete with better quality cars they have to offer these extras that you would normally have to pay for in better cars.

The Jetta is a better car in every category

Q: 2011 suzuki kizashi?? help pleasee?
heyy, im looking to buy my first car in a few months, and im considering the 2011 suzuki kizashi. ive heard it drives good, and the interior looks amazing for the price. im also considering the 2011 mazda 3 (the look/style, interior) and the 2011 subaru legacy (AWD, safety) what do you guys think? oh, and if you think I should get a used car, its not a choice, my parents dont think their safe. so pleaseee stick with the three choices above. I know more about the subaru and mazda, which is why im asking about the suzuki. links, experiences, and anything else you have are all appreciated! thanks!

A: Buy neither, you are comparing unreliable junque to unreliable junque so flip a coin. They are both going to make you learn where every mechanic in town lives and unless you want to be branded as BORING don’t get either since they are both famous for being BORING cars.
Besides, Japanese and Korean quality has been going down hill faster than a rocket powered sled on a greased rail in recent years.
Get American or European for quality and safety, Japanese and Korean cars are pretty crappy for the most part.

Signed, The Raven.

Q: Is the Blackberry Tour compatible with the 2010 Suzuki Kizashi Bluetooh feature?
I’m about to purchase a 2010 Suzuki Kizashi and I was wondering if anyone knew if the Blackberry Tour (9630) was compatible with the Bluetooth feature that it offers. The dealer said that it was compatible with ‘most’ phones but I’d like to know for sure. I was on the Suzuki website and looked to see if it was compatible, and the Tour was not an option but I was wondering if anyone had successfully connected their blackberry tour to the Kizashi bluetooth?

A: I have never seen a car that couldn’t sync with a blackberry, so it should definitely be compatible. Of course buying a Suzuki was probably your first mistake haha. I don’t know what kind of bluetooth experience you have, but make sure the bluetooth connection is actually turned on on your bberry under “manage connections,” then under the car’s voice activation, make sure it searches for new devices. While it is doing that, on your phone, under “setup” go to “set up bluetooth” and the car should find it. Then just follow the rest of the directions. Hope this helps.

Q: Whats your imppression of the new 2010 Suzuki Kizashi?

A: It may be a nice car but if it is anything like all the previous Suzuki cars I am sure it will be a very poor seller. As a result if you buy one you will have a hard time getting parts for it anywhere else but the dealer at outrageous prices. As a result of this and the fact that mechanics will not want to work on it, your cost of maintenance will be sky high. Resale value will also be very poor and prior models of Suzuki have a very poor reputation for quality. I suggest that you buy Honda or Toyota.

Q: What is the song used in the Suzuki Kizashi 2011 ad? Link provided?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klURoLNPRdg&feature=related
any idea? easy 10 points

A: Probality a special tune made for the tv commercial. Even look at the suzuki web site but didn’t see that one playing. I test drive one this year and may buy one next year when I get my Reno paid off. Like it alot!!!

Q: 2010 Subaru Legacy VS 2010 Suzuki Kizashi?
Im looking to buy a new car, a four door sedan something thats good for just about everything and ive come down to these two cars i like both brands and the fuel economy is fine also money is not a worry. but quality, performance, and longetivity is what im really looking for.

A: Neither.

They both suck.

Q: which is better car- maruti suzuki Kizashi or Skoda Laura?

A: Maruti suzuki Kizashi is best, it gives more mileage, Maintenance is easy and affordable

Q: So i decided to lease a Suzuki Kizashi….how long until i get it?
its a black Kizashi GTS

A: Two weeks.

Q: when can the US market expect the arrival of the new Gen Suzuki Swift and The Kizashi?

A: The kizashi will probably not be built. As for the kizashi 2 and kizashi 3, there is a very good chance they will be built for the 2010 model year.

Check out http://www.kizashitalk.com for more details.

Q: Should I buy a 2010 Suzuki Kizashi GTS?
I am a college student debating if the suzuki is worth buying

A: I say you should get a Kia forte, Hyundai Elantra, or many others. I am not sure about Suzuki’s cars, i’d give them some more time before i would buy from them.

Q: Is it just me, or is Suzuki Kizashi a RIP?
I can’t help but notice the new Kizashi and it seems to be a total rip off. The car is tiny, and to be quite honest, appears pretty junky. I will admit the back is attractive, but the sides and front have the appearance of a cheap Kia Rio, or something. The inside, for the price, looks like a chevy cobalt or something in that class, not something in the 19,000-27,000 price range…

With incentives, a new Camry LE is only $17,900 and a fully upgraded model with leather is $24,990, whereas Kizashi is at least $1,000 more in both trim levels, while being an unattractive combination of a Kia and a Cobalt and extremely OVERPRICED!

Any opinions?

Thanks,
Ethan
So AWD justifies a car with faulties in every other area…?

A: Kizashi is AWD, while Camry is not. It is a bit expensive than the competition, but Suzuki has definitely stepped up their quality.

Q: Computer help 2010 suzuki kizashi?
Saying not in park car is won’t shut off and saying faub not deteced

A: Put car in park BEFORE you hit the stop button

For more information and awesome write up about the Mini Countryman Please visit the top car portal AllAboutAuto.us

Q: Mini Cooper………….?
im thinking of buying a car but im not sure which one its between the
Mini Cooper Hardtop Or
Mini Copper countryman or
Mini Cooper Clubman

Im not sure what the difference is, but which one is would you say is better

A: Mini Cooper Hardtop=regular 2 door Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper Clubman = 4 door Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper Countryman=4 door AWD Mini Cooper version of an SUV.

Better is going to depend on what you need and where you drive. If you get a lot of snow, or go where there’s snow or dirt roads, Countryman for sure.
If you only drive in town, mostly by yourself, regular Cooper Hardtop.
If you have a couple friends you go out with often and you enjoy driving, Cooper Clubman.

No matter what, though, I would recommend getting the Cooper S version. The extra power is worth it.

Q: (New) Mini Cooper – any feedback/advice from those that have owned one?
I am seriously considering getting a mini cooper – on the verge of buying one. I really love them, they are so cute.

My husband wants me to get a 4 door countryman, whereas I am leaning more towards a tiny 2 door (not sure which one though). We might compomise and get a 2 door countryman, but I don’t know yet. I like the S model, and there was another one we were looking at, but I forget what model it was.

It will generally just be me driving it, and my husband will be with my on the weekend (if we don’t take his Rav). I never (at most very, very rarely) have passengers.

We don’t have children, and unsure if we ever will (won’t be for at least 5 years if we do).

Would love to hear from other mini cooper owners or anyone that knows about them. Are they reliable? Fuel consumption? Which models are best, etc? Anything you think is helpful whether positive or negative.

Thank you!

A: Mini cooper is the BMW’s best BTCC (British touring car championship) car. BMW always had issues with transmission. I mean changing gears in manual is a bit hard, not like cutting through fruit cake, feels like changing gears in old tractors.
Minis are light weight and powerful cars especially the S great car. I don’t prefer 4 door countryman because it never defines mini. I say its a mega cooper rather than a mini cooper.
Go for a mini cooper S.

Q: Which car is better…..?
im thinking of buying a car but im not sure which one its between the
Mini Cooper Hardtop Or
Mini Copper countryman or
Mini Cooper Clubman

Im not sure what the difference is, but which one is would you say is better

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

For more information and awesome write up about the Honda Insight Please visit the top car portal AllAboutAuto.us

Q: What are the benefits of a honda insight?
List environmental benefits and financial please.

A: Well no one would ever steal the car as it’s to ugly…

Q: is a 2000 Honda insight a good first car for a 16 year old?
I know it would be expensive up front, but wouldn’t it save me money in the long run? Are there any better pre-owned hybrids around?

A: Yes it is, its a very nice first car actually. It actually wouldnt be to expensive up front, and the better hybrids are honda civic hybrids and accord hybrid(rare), but cheaper would be the Insight, so its really a nice car. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Q: Can big guys fit in the Honda Insight Comfortably?
I’m a tall, big guy. I really want to get a hybrid car for gas efficiency. I currently drive a 98 hyundai elantra- compact car. Will i still comfortably fit in a 2010 honda isight?

A: My dad is a pretty big (well more like fat) but he manages to drive around a little e class benz. my mom has a prius and it is around the same size. we drove a civic hybrid and he didnt seem to have a problem. i would suggest test driving an insight and a civc hybrid if they still sell them. it would help you out alot.

Q: Did anyone change the oil for the first time on a Honda Insight?
I thought that 0w20 was OK, but at the dealer they said only synthetic, so I paid almost double.
Do not waste your time if there is no answer.

A: Dealer was right.

Q: How do you cut off/disconnect the wire that turns on the “check engine” light in a 2002 Honda Insight?
(I need an inspection sticker quick before I get a ticket!) LOL
Oh and my engine runs fine, but that dang light stays on no matter what. Help me, please!

A: go to discount autoparts. Usually guys over there help you check and erease the codes that your car gives out. They might charge $90.00 for it. Instead if you know aanything about the little calculator like gadgets, over at discount auto parts they sell little code readers and eraser for $40-$50. You can do it on your own. They explain everything in the user manuals. Do not take the bulb out…!

Q: How owns a 2010 Honda Insight and what do you think about it?
How is the ride ? Gas Mileage ? Comfort ? Do you like it ?
Yikes …that should be WHO owns…happy fingers…

A: I’ve had a non-nav ex for 1500 miles – The number one thing is that it has slowed my too fast driving down. I’m getting a constant 49mpg going 65 on the hiway.
I am having issues with audio file formatting for the USB input but otherwise all is way cool.
Re-programming things like the auto door locks and self resetting trip a on a fill up took a bit of time with the manual – but the fact that you can adjust these things to your preferences is also GREAT!
PLUS it looks like a hybrid – not a dorky civic.

Q: Should I buy new Honda Insight or second hand BMW 3 series ?
I’m planing to get a car, but confused whether to get a brand new car or second hand BMW car.. Please help me decide. Thanks
which model of BMW is recommended to buy and the maximum mileage number and also year made ?

A: Depending on the condition, the 3 series will be alot more fun for you and is just a better car any point under 40,000 ish miles give or take a few thousand.

The insight has the MPG but the 3 series gets good enough milage, looks WAY better and the payments will probably be alot easier. If you can comfortably pay for a new car (even a new 3 series) It does wonders for youre credit i think. Definitely the 3 series because its better everywhere but fuel economy, and even at that, it still gets good mpg

Q: Does the Honda Insight ever operate without using gasoline?
I notice that the display sometimes indicates that no power is coming from the engine, yet the tachometer still shows the engine is turning. Does that mean the engine is entirely operating off batteries and no gasoline is being used?

A: What u see is an indicator to help u learn how to maximize vehicle operation. When you are at a stop light or stop sign and u see the light (idle stop) flashing but everything else still works , that’s the only moment were the engine it’s not working with gas. These engine will vary or stop cylinder operation depends on what your demands are, sometimes it’s only running in just one cylinder and when that happens, you will see that the tachometer still shows the engine turning but the display will indicate that the engine is off, but it’s really turning. Fuel consumption is so low that the display panel says that the engine is off. Hope this helps , Good luck!

Q: Where is the engine air filter on a 2010 Honda Insight?
The owners manual simply states, “Have your dealer change your engine air filter.” I would like to change it myself, but I’m not sure where it is. I know it sounds simplistic but I really can’t find the right cover.

A: Black box to the right of the engine cover. It should be self explanatory.

Q: Will a 2010 Honda Insight explode if you shoot the gas tank?
I need to know for reasons.

A: Mythbusters did an episode on igniting a gas tank with bullets and found out that it would not work. The only way to ignite a gas tank with a bullet is to use an incendiary round in a caliber that is larger than what a civilian is legally able to buy.

Q: I have a P1166 check engine light code in a honda insight How can one turn it off without going to a shop?
the code manual says its something with the heating systems. But everything works just fine, including the heater. It is clearly superficial and I cannot get the light to come off despite my efforts with the battery or with a diagnostic computer. Any suggestions? thanks

A: even if you turn it off its going to pop back on so go get it checked

Q: Is the Honda Insight worth getting?
I was wondering if the Honda Insight is worth the purchase. It has phenomenol fuel economy but I am a bit worried about the cost of replacing the battery pack down the road. Any one have any advise?

A: Yes the fuel economy is great. The technology used in this car has since become obsolete. The new Civic Hybrids are much more economical and reliable. You can find these used at a decent price almost everywhere.

Q: whats the song on the honda insight commercial?
the one where they’re having a concert in a field.

A: “I’ll see you on the moon”- by Great Lake Swimmers

Q: Do you think the 2010 Honda Insight is a dud?
In other words a failure just like the one before it.

A: no.
i dont think so…
why would u ask that……
especialllyy with toyota prius’ big FAILLL on their brakes..
I have a feeling that people are going to look for the Honda insights now…

Q: what type of gasoline do you have to use for a hybrid Honda insight?
can use the cheapest gasoline in it?

A: Regular unleaded per Honda’s recommendation.

For more information and awesome write up about the Chevrolet Cruze Please visit the top car portal AllAboutAuto.us

Q: What do you think of Chevrolet Cruze?
i want to buy a Chevrolet Cruze, what do you think of it? and if you think its not OK, what other car of the same class shall i take a look to?

A: I’ve heard VERY good reviews for the Cruze. The reviews are claiming that the Cruze is going head to head against the Civic, Corolla and the Mazda 3 which is some VERY worthy competition. My only concern would be the “first year blues” that all cars go though in the first year of production. Don’t worry about parts as the Chevy has to have parts for the car while they are in production and the only time to worry about that is if you get into an accident. If your looking for other cars to look at then I would suggest the 3 that I have listed above. I own a Mazda 3 and owned a Corolla and I was/am VERY happy with them.

Q: What are your thoughts about Chevrolet Cruze 2011?
I loved the new styling both exterior and interior but am not sure whether or not it carries the Chevrolet spirit as they are not made in the US.What do you think?

A: The Cruze is without a doubt a step in the right direction for GM in the US compact car market. It’s a huge step over the Cobalt, it’s a better built car, better materials used and has a lot of nice standard options. Hopefully this will help the negative stigma GM has that they only produce gas guzzling SUV’s when in reality that hasn’t been true for years(blame GM’s horrible marketing for that).

Just a tidbit of info, not every GM car is made in the US. The Regal(Germany now, soon to be Oshwa, Ontario, Canada), Camaro(Oshwa) and a few others are made in places other than the US.

Q: What is the mileage of a chevrolet cruze LTZ AT automatic car? ?
thanks you all, gents…

HyperGforce> i am based in india. here the cruze ltz at come with a 2L VCDi engine cranking 149 horses. so the mileage could differ here.

ARAI rates the LTZ AT’s FE at 14.4 kmpl (of course, under standard conditions)…anyone with actual city/highway figures?

A: Hari good question. The new chevrolet Cruze LTZ with its 1.4 liter 138HP engine using the 6 speed auto transmission gets 24 city and 36 hwy MPG.The new Cruze with its 15.6 gallon fuel tank and the fuel MPG stated means its got a lot of good miles between fill ups. Please use the link posted for more information on the Cruze.Best of luck. http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/spec_engines.aspx?year=2011&make=Chevrolet&model=Cruze&trimid=111472#eng_tran

Q: Is the Chevrolet Cruze LS model slower than all the other cars in it’s class or is it about the same (average)?
I’m getting a Cruze and I wantto know If it is slower than the civic or corolla.

A: I have attached the website for you to obtain a competitive comparison for the Chevrolet Cruze. The Chevrolet Cruze is one of our most popular models to date. I would definitely suggest the Cruze.

I hope this information helps! I just obtained it from the Chevrolet Website.

Brent
GM Customer Service

Q: Is the Chevrolet Cruze a slower car than all other cars in it’s class or about the same (average)?
I’m getting a cruze I wanna know if it’s just as fast as the Honda civic or the Toyota corolla, etc.

A: nothing can be slower then a honda civic except for the SI. (trust me, i’ve driving it). the corolla mmnn maybe the corolla is faster and more agile. but the cruze is pretty average compared to its price range and class. cruze isn’t the most powerful car, but its pretty economical compared to its rivals. and it has a turbo!!! not that it matter since its low pressure.

Q: My Brother has decided on Chevrolet Cruze Automatic. Any reviews?
My brother is buying Cruze automatic next month. Very excited.

A: Great. Just purchased on Feb 25,’10 a Cruze LTZ automatic. Fantastic and superb, Great feel and solid vehicle. Picks up fast for overtaking and excellent road feel.Features are excellent and new compared to other cars. Compared with Jetta & Laura before deciding and no regrets. Color- Light Golden. Good Braking & powerful a/c, engine etc. though horn very light, have to change it. Good ground clearance, took it offroader in Kerala and handles well. Good choice, you will not regret it.

Q: How best the people are rating chevrolet’s cruze in design and price?

A: Chevrolet cruze is one of the best buy. Great looks and pricing is accurate. In this price getting too much. Cruze features are amazing. Go for a test drive you can compare the things yourself. chevrolet has come up with really great design this time.

Q: Chevrolet cruze LT or honda civic 1.8mt?
I have already booked a white cruze LT(It is possible to refund). But yestreday i read in a review that it has high turbo lag but it is a rocket in highway but my main drive will be in the city.My other option is honda civic?I know chevrolet is not a good company as honda, and chevy has terrible after sales..So which car is better?

A: The engine blocks in the civics seem to crack. Its a design flaw. Its around a 4000 dollar repair. Honda only has a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.

just google crack honda civic engine block

supposedly issue is fixed for 2010. But do you want to take a chance? I was going to buy a civic but no more

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/mechanical-problems-technical-chat/108868-engine-cracked.html

http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=141747

Q: I need help. Does anyboby knows where i can locate the low beam fuse for Chevrolet Cruze. I cant locate them?
Tried looking in both fuse box already but there isnt one exactly for the low beams

A: Many cars also have fuses in the engine compartment, check there. Also, If you don;t have low beams, that normally means your bulb is burned out.

Q: Chevrolet Cruze vs Skoda Octavia?
Which is better in between Chevrolet Cruze vs Skoda Octavia and why?

A: Between these two cars, it has to be Chevrolet Cruze… It’s better because it’s more dynamic in looks, speed, interior quality and it is a better engineered car than our good old Octavia which is now showing signs of dating also… So Chevrolet is a better car!!!! Whereas Octavia will be discontinued shortly, since Skoda is coming up with another alternative by the end of 2010.

Q: Why GM failed with Chevrolet Cruze in Japanese market?

A: car is too big

Q: Do you see yourself ever considering a Chevrolet Cruze?

A: If I wanted to buy a compact car sure. The early reviews of it have been positive.

Q: Is the Chevrolet Cruze a good car?
Holden in Australia have decided to begin building Cruzes here in Australia badged as Holdens, to my knowledge Cruzes are already avaliable in Europe as Chevrolets are they any good? how is the handling do they drive well? I would like to know to figure out how well they will sell here.

A: Yes it is a very good car but the top specs. model might face some minor technical difficulties.

Q: Chevrolet Cruze 2011 Vs Toyota Corolla 2011?
Cruze http://www.motorpasion.com/chevrolet/chevrolet-cruze-presentacion-y-prueba-i
Corolla http://autos.terra.com/fotos/toyota_corolla_2011/307598
What car do you think it lasts longer? what car has the best quality?

A: Toyotas can last a long time but in this case I would go with the Cruze. I would say the Cruze is about a full generation (if not more) ahead of the 2011 Corolla. A person mentioned the Cruze’s platform but I believe the Corolla’s is about 8 years old itself. The Cruze is too new to know if it will have any lasting durability, buying a first year car is a concern, but I still think it’s much better than the Corolla in all other areas.
You may want to look at the new Hyundai Elantra and Ford Focus as well. All of these cars are way ahead of the Corolla IMO.

Q: Chevrolet Cruze launching?
When will Chevrolet Cruze going to launch in India and what will be its Price range?

A: In oct end, the price would be around 11L. Available in both petrol and diesel.

Q: What is the song in the new Volkswagen Beetle commercial?
You know the commercial for the new Volkswagen Beetle car with the beetle that is running through the rain forest really fast and jumping obstacles? What is the song in that commercial? I’ve been trying to find out the name of it for years.

A: While both of the other answers have the song right, they both have the artist wrong. The song in the Volkswagen Beetle commercial is “Black Betty” by Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

You can get various cover versions of the song and watch the commercial here:
http://www.popisms.com/TelevisionCommercial/27743/Volkswagen-Commercial-for-Volkswagen-Beetle.aspx
.

Q: Any ideas what the Volkswagen Beetle will look like in 30 years?
I am doing a school project and I have to design what the volkswagen beetle will look like in 30 years? Can anybody help me with some ideas? I’m not really into cars!

A: with as many haters as there are now about the beetle there probably wont be any. The newest model looks like a pt cruiser,,ewww. Honestly Im positive this new new one will run for a year or so then theyll cut it out completely.

Q: Would I be making a good decision in buying a Volkswagen Beetle?
I want to buy a cute little Volkswagen Beetle (used) and am wondering if it would be a smart move with gas, also is this a good mileage from a used car I was looking at- 74,075. Thanks!

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: how far can a 2008 volkswagen beetle car drive on 130gallons of gas?
how far can a 2008 volkswagen beetle car drive on 130gallons of gas?

A: Highway mileage according to the EPA ranges from 28-29 depending on transmission. Depending on driving style, you should be able to fall somewhere in the range of 3,400 to 4,400 miles, or more than enough to drive from Bangor, Maine to Los Angeles, California.

Q: Why is the passenger door of my Volkswagen Beetle really hard and stiff to open?
The door of my Volkswagen is really hard and stiff to open from the inside and my dad has tried putting grease on it but it is still hard to open from the outside. It opens real good from the inside though. What should i do?

A: FIRST YOU GOT TO “UN-LOCK” THE DOOR.
PUSH THE UN-LOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB “TWICE” TO OPEN PASSENGER DOOR.
FROM INSIDE IT AUTOMATICALLY UN-LOCKS WHEN YOU PULL THE HANDLE.

Q: How can I unlock my steering wheel in a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle?
My 2001 VW Beetle will not allow me to turn the ignition to start it up. My steering wheel is locked and I think that is why I cannot turn the ignition. I desperately need help with this and I’m starting to get worried. How can I unlock my steering wheel without turning on my car?

A: You have to turn the wheel slightly to get the load off of the lock and then turn the key. It is a coordinated thing that you need to learn to own a modern car(Not just VW has this).

Q: where can I find an old Volkswagen beetle ?
I would like to restore an old 60’s 70’s beetle to restore , I live in the UK , so it would need to here it is bought as it may be to expensive to import from anywhere else.

A: craigslist?

Q: Is the Volkswagen Beetle TDI diesel a reliable car?
Are Beetle TDIs reliable over 100,000 miles? Are they over all good cars mechanically? Are the new beetles good, reliable cars in general?

A: Depends on the service it has received in its life. Regular oil changes, filter changes and the like. The diesel engine will go a million miles. The turbo or fuel injection pump will fail before then and then at that point there is the cost of fixing it to consider. My pump went at 400, cost of repairing it was more than the value of the 20 yo car. Could not get a replacement pump at wreckers either. So at that point, dumped the car.

Q: What famed two-world ad slogan did William Bernbach dream up to launch the Volkswagen Beetle?
What famed two-world ad slogan did William Bernbach dream up to launch the Volkswagen Beetle

A: THINK SMALL IS THE ANSWER FOR THE RADIO TRIVIA!!:-)

Q: On a 1950s Volkswagen Beetle, what is that yellow thing right behind the door that flips up?
I’m an aircooled Volkswagen enthusiest at age 16, and to tell you the truth I never understood what that thing is.

This 53 Oval has it (I may be buying it, I hope I get it!)

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=796242
I’m thinking it’s the directional?

A: From http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/dic/w.php

Winker The German word for the “semaphore” or as the English have called them “trafficators”

Those funny directional devices used on Volkswagens from the 1930s prototypes to 1960 (in Europe) semaphores were last seen on US bound cars about 1955. They were also known in late 1950s early 60s US Army slang as “idiot sticks” and made illegal by the German safe pedestrian laws in 1961.

————————————————————————————————-
Originally, all turning indication had to be done using hand-signals (no indicator lights in those days). VW brought out the semaphores which indicated whether you were turning right (right semaphore would pop out ) or left (left semaphore would pop out). This was essential the introduction of mechanical/electrical turn signal indication.

Subsequently cars were fitted with indicator lights and as the laws changed even the VW’s fitted with these semaphores had to have indicator lights fitted.

Q: Would you find a big guy driving a classic volkswagen beetle funny?
I want to get a classic beetle. I am a bigger guy (wide and tall) and want to know if you would find it funny to see a big guy drive a bug. It will be more of a manly car as it will have a Subaru STI engine. Thanks
im bi btw not gay

A: I will put it to you “this” way. My late husband was 6 feet 5 inches tall,
and there was nothing “gay” or funny looking about him. All it means is that you are a big guy who happens to have good taste in cars. VW’s are great cars, that’s why they are still around. I happen to own 8 Volkswagen’s, and no doubt will own “more” before it’s all said and done. Good luck, and welcome to the world of Volkswagens.

Q: What car should I get, Acura TSX or Convertible Volkswagen Beetle?
I’m 17, in college, and i’m going to get a car soon. I’m deciding between an Acura tsx and a convertible beetle. Which one gets better gas mileage? And which one is going to last me longer? I’m planning on getting used as well, so which year is best to buy? I also plan to travel often, so that’s a factor too.

If there are any other suggestions about a better car please suggest it! Thanks

A: Well, the TSX is an all around better car. It is more fun to drive, has more room, and looks nicer. They will last about the same, and they get about the same mileage, so it is up to you, although convertible is naturally higher maintenance, since there are more things that can break. I actually am trying to convince my dad to get a TSX as his next car, since he is currently shopping for one.

Don’t get me wrong, the Beetle is a nice car, but I would personally enjoy being able to comfortably carry more people, and have a nicer interior.

Last, don’t forget that overall, car choice is an opinion. If you really like convertible Beetles, go for it, you only live once.

Q: Does horn on a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle have a ground wire?
The beetle wiring harness for this model has a ground attached, but where does it connect on the horn, or does it connect elsewhere?

A: go here and start searching.

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/
TheSamba.com :: Index

The horn always has power. The horn button is the ground.

Q: I need a new key for my 2000 Volkswagen Beetle?
I was wondering what the price for a new key for my beetle would be, because the key I currently have is beaten up pretty bad, and I would really like to have a new one. What would be the price and where could I get one? It doesn’t even have to be the whole key, just the plastic part.

A: Go to a VW dealer, they can fix you up for $20.00 to $60.00
may be free if it is in warranty.

Q: Would this Volkswagen beetle be a decent first car for a guy?
Im thinking about getting a beetle for a first car, yes i am a guy, but its a car so u cant really say its feminine or masculine. it would be a dudes car when im done with it. It willl look like a beetle with a spoiler and it will have black rims with a silver lip outline, and the car will be either, silver, gray or black.

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Do you think the Toyota Solara or the Ford Mustang is a cooler car for a guy?
I’m down to two choices. I’m a young guy trying to find a cool car. It has a few dents and 150k miles but still looks great and drives great. How much do you think i can sell it for?

A: around 3k

Q: rumble and vibration in my ford mustang?
I have a 2003 ford mustang base model automatic rear wheel drive. In the mornings when i start my car and come to a stop i hear a loud rumble and vibration in my car,it only does it when i come to a stop.As the day goes on the rumble and vibration goes away,any1 know what this might be?

A: It could be a variety of possible issues, however I would have a mechanic take a look at your front end for worn out ball joints or bad bushings.

Q: What are the biggest size rims I can fit on a 2007 Ford Mustang?
What are the biggest size rims I can fit on a 2007 Ford Mustang?

A: 24″ or so

Q: Which is is a better sports car, the Cadillac XLR or the Ford Mustang?
The only reason I’m asking this is because my brother thinks the Cadillac XLR is the best sports car, and I think the Ford Mustang is the best sports car. Which by the way he doesn’t like the Dodge Viper.

A: Dude…Mustang? Everyone drives Mustangs these days…I’d pick a Cadillac XLR over a Mustang any day.

Well, I guess it depends what KIND of Mustang. If it was an ‘07 Shelby, I’d take the mustang. Other than that, the Cadillac.

But personally, I’d take a Trans Am over any of those…

there is a AUX button on the mustang radio but if i press it i get no aux

A: FORD mustang don’t have the cable or interface in the vehicle, but if there is a button AUX
you can add the interface,

http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-192-86-frd04-aux-ford-2004-and-up-input-audio-adapter-aux-button.aspx

Q: 2006 Ford mustang, when do repair problems start?
I have a 06 mustang v6 and warranty until 36K miles. I was wondering when mustangs start to have problems so i can have an idea when to sell it. I also heard that the mustang is ford’s best car but debatable

A: Usually the first problem you notice is the nut behind the steering wheel.

Wow I’ve waited 30 years to use that joke.

Q: Can you install a Mopar oil filter on a ford mustang gt?
Can you install/use a Mopar (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep) oil filter on a Ford. Specifically on a 1999 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L and a Mopar MO-899 oil filter.

A: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT??? THE BRAND OF FILTER DOESN’T MATTER AS LONG AS THE CROSS REFERENCE CHART IS CONSULTED.MOST FILTER MANUFACTURES MAKE FILTERS FOR A LOT OF DIFFERENT VEHICLES. IF YOU CAN’T CROSS REFERENCE THE MOPAR NUMBER DON’T USE IT …….SAVE 5 BUCKS SPEND 10K ON A NEW ENGINE?????

Q: Anybody know a good website where I can find information on upgrading my 1993 Ford Mustang GT!?
I would like any information anybody can provide to upgrade my 1993 Ford Mustang to be faster and give better performance. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

A: badmustangsclub.com, svtperformance.com, modularfords.com, use me as a referral my name there is buffmustang and feel free to ask me any questions you want.

Q: Best possible sound system for ford mustang?
I have a 2001 ford mustang, and i want to put a killer sound system in it, what could i get for around 1000$, and what are some specific qulitys i should be looking for when evaluating the specs on diferent, amps, component and subwoofers. Much Thanks

A: a costom job is alys best
buy you will nead a biger budget

Q: Do Ford Mustang enthusiasts have a lower IQ then everyone else?
This question is not meant to insult anyone. In my experience I have yet to meet someone who is a Ford Mustang enthusiast who is introspective, intelligent, and exceptionally capable overall. I will go as far as saying I have yet to meet a moderately smart Mustang enthusiast. I am a huge auto enthusiast and have encountered thousands of different people who share the same passion.

A: Never ever heard anything like that, & I’ve been pushing Mustangs since the mid-’80’s. I think maybe your qualifications for what passes as intelligence are suspect.

Q: If you buy a new Ford Mustang convertible, can you get a hard top for when you don’t want the convertible roof?
I have seen some convertible cars in the past where they have hard tops that can be placed on them. So basically you always have the option if you don’t want to be using the convertible. This might be something you would choose if it were cold weather, or perhaps for added security.

Does anyone know if a product like this is available for the new Ford Mustangs?

A: The extra Hardtop for Mustang convertibles are not available from Ford, however there are a couple of independent companies that manufacture custom hardtops.
Smoothline is one of them.

http://www.smoothline.com/

Q: Where is the blinker buss flasher in a 1990 Ford Mustang. Not the hazards that are in the fuse box.?
I have checked all lights and fuses and the hazard flashers work (the one in the fuse box). But I can’t find out where the turn light buss flasher is connected. Any help would be appreciated. 1990 Ford Mustang 4 cyclinder LX?

A: I believe it is “buried” under the dash, behind the instrument panel, clipped to a little bracket, either over the steering wheel or just to one side of it on the metal brace that holds the dashboard in. You will probably need to remove some under dash plastic covers and A/C ductwork.

As you seem to alreadsy know, the hazard uses a separate flasher from the turn signals. They make the hazard one easy to get to!!! Go figure.

Silly Ford people: they don’t make things easy!!!!

Q: how much does it cost to have a 1965 Ford Mustang restored/?
Im looking to get an old junker 1965 ford mustang restored. Its pretty much a complete rebuild. Any ball park figures?

A: That all depends on your interpretation of “restored” and what shop does the work, you could spend anywhere from $5k for a do it yourself to $50k for a premium Job..and you don’t have to worry about a frame, because they are a unibody..

Q: Where do i find a used ford mustang gt at for a cheap price?
i need to find a Ford Mustang GT 2004 model for a cheap price i cant find a website that can help me with that so does anyone know where i can find one if you can help i thank you for it

A: i own a repair shop, and on that new of one your not going to find one real cheap, there still on the books as a high dollar car right now,,you might find one someone wants to sell to get out of debt but the good deals are on the older ones right now on one that new your going to pay top dollar for it,good luck i hope this help,s.

Q: 1970 Dodge Charger front springs and brakes?
hi there, i was wondering if anyone knew what i could do here.. i bought a project 1970 dodge charger about 3 weeks ago and the previous owner said he installed new brake pads [drum brakes on all 4 corners] but when i push the pedal, it makes a squishy noise, goes to the floor, and just comes right back up. it is also leaking at the firewall where the pedal goes into. i’m probably thinking this guy didn’t bleed the system, or the master cylinder is out. how could i tell if it’s either or? and how do you bleed a drum brake system on this car? and why is it leaking in area? [only leaks when you press the pedal down] so right now, i have no brakes on the car. the e-brake doesn’t work either. and my last question, me and a few others were looking at the front suspension and noticed there isn’t any springs, my father owned a ‘69 back in the late 70’s and my friend’s father owned a ‘68 back then too, they couldn’t remember if it had front springs or not, theres no cupping area for a spring?

A: The master Cylinder is shot, It’s is leaking because the O-ring on the piston has rotted away. There are rebuild kits avalible for these at Napa and other autoparts stores, however it may be most cost effective and worth more of your time if you where to convert at least the front of the car to front power disk. There are kits avalible, just search on the web or check out any of the sources in Mopar Muscle, or action mopar. the brake system bleeds like any other system. You just need to turn the bleed valve on the wheel cylinder. As far as the spring question, These cars use torsion bars for thier front springs. It’s the long bar that runs from the wheels to the center of the front of the car. You adjust these with a large socket and a ton of pressure. Make sure you completely understand how torsion suppention works prior to doing anything with these bars as serious injury can occur. If you need more information, Check out the links I have provided.

Q: What would be the best 440 to put in a 1968 or 1970 Dodge Charger?
Yeah, I would like to know the horsepower, weight, mpg, and any other detail you can provide… I would also like to know some good websites where I can buy good condition or new 440’s… Thank you!
Do you know any websites with any pre-built engines? Thank you Dodge Man… I appreciate your help.

A: their is no certain amount of horse power for those engines they made them that had as much as 375 all the way up to 400 and more.if you want a new one or rebuilt go to this site and see what they offer, they got them in many different styles, you got to pay for what horse power you want these days, check this site out,it should answer some of your questions on it,good luck,http://www.440source.com/

Q: does anyone knw were i can find a 1970 dodge charger?
does anyone knw wer i can find
a 1970 dodge charger or a 1970 plymouth roadrunner in ontario california!
were can i find

Q: what’s better a 1970 dodge charger 500 or 1970 dodge charger r/t?
p.s is there just an 1970 dodge charger not 500 or r/t,and what’s all the kinds of 1970 dodge charger
and whats the difference between them

A: they did build a plain old charger nothing special about it and it had a bench seat in it with the automatic on the column, there’s actually several different versions of it that was made because back then people had the option of ordering what ever they wanted on a car,a friend of mine has one that is an r/t model that has a bench seat and is automatic on the column, they built this with 4 different engine options also you could get a 318 which was a base model car or you could get a 383 or a 440 or a 426 hemi engine in it and each engine had other options available to make it run better also, check this web page out that im sending you it has a real good history of the chargers and what all they came with and what all they could be bought with, good luck, http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/charger/history.html

Q: Insurance amount for Dodge Charger 1970 Muscle Car?
can you give me an estimate of what insurance may cost for a new driver of 21, if the car is a 1970 black dodge charger Muscle car.. I wanna lower the power of the car, maybe keep it at 250 HP? I am new to driving and wanna know of ways to lower the insurance and the amount that I would more than likely be needing to pay in the future. Can anyone help me.. Ten Points whoever answers the best!

A: Using the following as a guideline……

1. New driver.

Q: I was looking to restore a 1970 Dodge Charger and then sell it. Any ideas as to how much I can make?

A: as rule of thumb on restoring a vehicle you only get back about 2/3 of what you put in to it so you wont make no money on it,unless its given to you and someone gives you the parts and supplies about half of the labor free of charge, there’s not to much money to be made on a restored car, people are looking for original cars with good paper work and original documentation on them, the last one i restored i lost about 8 grand on it when i sold it,good luck.

Q: What is the factory speaker setup for a 1970 Dodge Charger?
Speaker locations, sizes, etc…

A: The center of the dash would have a 4×10 speaker if it has one.

If the car has the small speakers at the outer ends of the dash they would be 3.5 inch speakers. But not all 3.5 speakers will fit, some are too deep.

The rear speakers are 5×7 inches

Q: 1970 dodge charger se 383 matching #s Se Value?
1970 dodge charger se 383 matching #s Se In great shape Value?

A: Check hemmings.com and nada.com

Q: What’s better a 1970 dodge charger 500 or 1970 dodge charger r/t?

A: Gosh, some bad information here!

A lesson needs to be in order before the question is answered. Think of the 1969 Charger and the Charger R/T. For 1970, the previous base Charger was now called the Charger 500, which had no relation to the NASCAR special from the previous year. The base 1970 Charger was basically a decontented car with bench seat standard, among other things. Engines available were the Slant Six all the way to the 383 4bbl. (there never was a Six Pack for the 383).

The engine choices for the 1970 Charger 500 were the same as the base Charger’s. The R/T had a 440-4 standard, with the 440-6 and Hemi as options.

So what’s better? It’s up to you, but considering everyone likes to go faster, I’d have to choose the R/T. Other than the engine, they’re basically the same cars.

Q: 1970 Dodge Charger Front End?
hi, i’m looking for a website or catalog that offers reproduction parts for mostly the ‘70 charger. i have gone to jims auto parts website, year one, paddock parts, i’ve searched ebay, but i can’t find any reproduction front bumper for a 1970 dodge charger. i need the chrome front bumper, a new grill and headlight assembly. [basically i need a lot of front end parts] and a new hood. i just can’t seem to find any of them. does anyone know where i can find these parts? thanks

A: Google some car enthusiast blogs; my buddy is working on a ‘69 Chevy and has found lots of luck talking to other people on the Blog in deducing problems and finding parts.

Q: 1970 dodge charger grille?
where can i find a grille like the one on the 1970 dodge charger from the fast and furious 4 for sale?

A: that one was custom made for that movie,as far as i know no one is making those, but you might find something on this site, good luck, http://customgrills.com

Q: Which car should i get a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner or a 1970 Dodge Charger?
im looking for speed,hp,power,and torque

A: Try craigslist.

Q: Dodge Charger, 1968, 1969, 1970 WANTED UNDER 8,000 within the U.S.?
Please anyone help me find this beauty of a car. I’m in college, and as for anyone who paid their own way through college knows it’s tough!!, but as a graduation gift for myself, I want to find either a 1968, 1969, or 1970 Dodge Charger, hopefully not too rusty, but with an engine still. Please help me find this beautiful car!!

Any year, any combo of version, like exp: R/T, or 500, or 500 R/T, or even lesser.
But please in the U.S.!!

I’ve looked ALL over the internet, everyday I check eBay, I can’t find anything.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

A: All I found is this: http://www.dealsonwheels.com/browse/Dodge_Charger.aspx

And none seems to be under 8k… good luck though.

Q: Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger?
I absolutely love Muscle Cars and the Fast & Furious series. I’ve read a lot about the 1970 Dodge Charger, with the ‘portrayed specifications’ as below can anyone estimate a more realistic hp and achievable speeds since Dom’s apparent 900hp is fake?

I do apologize if I’m beating a dead horse so to speak.

A: back in 1973 i bought 71 challenger with 440 it and with little work on it we had it running around 550 horse power real easy, the 426 was capable of achieving 6-800 horse power, but at no low cost, the 440 can get just as much horse power for almost half the cost of the 426 engine,my car when running right would run speeds up to 145 miles per hour real easy,it wasn’t safe at that speed because those cars actually drove like crap, they didn’t have the needed suspension under them to handle high speeds unless you was on a strait run with them, anyone who has actually owned one will tell you the same thing about them, handling was very bad, cornering was terrible, movie cars often mis-lead people in to thinking those cars was the greatest cars ever built, one thing all the movies did help on and that was to sell a lot of challengers, like the movie vanishing point, dodge sold a ton of those cars back when that movie first came out because the movie was made back when the car was almost new, good luck

Q: 1969 or 1970 Dodge Charger Special Edition SE?
I’m getting into cars and I’m looking for a car to try to restore. My gramps has a 1969 or 1970 Dodge Charger Special Edition SE and i was wondering if its worth restoring it? Slight rust on the back bottom side panels, but nothing too much. Stock lights and wheels look pretty good for how old they are? Any tips appreciated!
Thanks for your insight!

A: Those old Mopars are always in demand. Yes, its worth restoring. If gramps is the original owner and has paperwork to prove it, def restore it.

Find out who Galen Govier is (you need to know who that is) and get some detailed info on the Charger. That will help you decide if there is a financial upside to restoring the car.

Those are awesome cars, esp with the bigger engines. Have fun with it.

Q: How do I turn off the coolant light on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
Coolant light came on in my 2006 Jeep Wrangler. It was low on coolant; I filled it according to the reserve tank. Now how do I turn off the coolant light? Thank you for your assistance.

A: Maybe drive it a while, it’l turn off.

See if it stayed full. Check radiator level and rad cap for leaks, being fully tighened, or needing replacement due to failure to hold pressure.

Cooling system could be losing coolant in many places.

Otherwise, have Jeep dealer check it.

Q: What kind of switch fits in my 2011 jeep wrangler?
I have a 2011 jeep wrangler sport. I am installing some external lights to the vehicle. i want to mount the switch at the small panel where the hazard light switch is. What kind of switch for the lights would fit in these slots.

A: You could go with something like this, from Daystar:

http://www.quadratec.com/products/12500_231X_PG.htm

Also, you might find a switch that happens to fit. That’s what I did for the foglight switch for my TJ – I just measured the opening and found one the same size in an electrical supply catalogue

Q: What is the best soft top to buy for a Jeep Wrangler?
I currently have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, black, but I have a hard top. I want a soft too and hope to get one this summer. Would it be in my best interest to get it from the dealer or is there another brand that you would recommend? Also, if you know the prices of the different brands that would be great!
I have a 4 door.

A: Bestop. Quadratec.com

Q: Is there any trick to removing the doors off a Jeep Wrangler with power door locks?
Hi everyone- I’m thinking about buying a ‘08-’09 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and was wondering if removing the doors becomes a pain in the butt if you go with the power door lock option. Any experts out there?

A: You don’t have to cut the wires, there is a quick disconnect on the door wires under the dash and on the 4 doors it is inside the B post behind the front seats behind a trap door.

Q: Is the Jeep Wrangler a good car for a teenager?
I am 16 and will get my license soon, and I have wanted a Jeep wrangler for a while. I like the topless door less idea. I also just like them in general. I live in Mountain View, California, the weather is very nice so I don’t need to worry about getting cold or icy roads or the like.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: Where can I buy a cheap hard top for a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with a soft top and soft windows. I want to buy either a new soft top with hard windows or a new hard top with hard windows. Where is the cheapest place I can do this? Also, if I have soft windows, can I just replace the windows for hard ones or do I have to replac the whole door?

A: I have a 95 hard top and would be willing to get rid of it.
if you have half doors you need to replace the doors witch i have
i will trade you your half doors for full doors and sell you the hard top

Q: How to repair a lower shoch mount on a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler and the rear left lower shock mount continues to crack and break. I’ve had it welded several times, but I don’t think the weld is holding. Is there an after market clamp or something I install?

A: Sounds like your shocks are to long and they are bottoming out on the shock mount pushing the mount right off of the axel. Assuming of course the welds are good. If not reinforce the sides of the mount and weld again, and or I can sell you a new shock mount, or axel bracket kit…

Q: Where can i find 454 engine adapter mounts for 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ?
Hello, i need to install a 454 chevy engine onto a 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ that currently has a 2.5L I4 w/ the manual transmission. I would like to know where i can find the engine mount adapters i already checked advanced adapters and nothing. PLEASE HELP!

A: You are gonna have to do some welding and cutting. I would first go find a big late 80’s early 90’s Chevy W/O engine at a boneyard and chop them out and then weld them in place of your old mounts. Thats the easiest, safest and cheapest way i know of to do that.

Q: Can I put a factory satellite radio in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler?
I want to replace my factory AM/FM/CD radio in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler with an in dash AM/FM/CD/Satellite radio. Do they make such a thing and if so where can I get it.

A: Yes….Your dealer has or can get one that is made FOR your Jeep.

Q: How big of tires can you fit under a 2″ or 3″ lift on a Jeep Wrangler with little or no rubbing?
I’m planning on getting either a 2″ or 3″ lift for my ‘97 Jeep Wrangler. Should I leave my 31s on it or can I go bigger?

A: 32 x 11.50 should fit fine with 3″. You may get a slight rub at full steering lock, but you can adjust the stops to take care of that.
If you’re only going to do 2″ lift stick with 31’s.

Q: How do you turn off the door alarm on a jeep wrangler tj?
there is an annoying alarm that my wrangler Tj has that goes off every time i put the keys in the ignition without my seatbelt on. it also goes off if i open my doors with the keys in the ignition. is there any easy way to disable it, or if anybody knows where the alarm is located in the jeep i will just take it out. thanks.

A: it is a small box up under dash…track down sound and disconnect…

Q: Is the skid plate on a Jeep Wrangler actually important?
I have a 2004 Jeep wrangler, and whenever I put the skid plate on (the thing that covers the muffler and tranfer case on the bottom of the jeep), the 4 wheel drive cuts out. instead of blowing a bunch of money for a mechanic to fix this, i want to just leave it off. is there anything wrong with this solution?
Thanks in advance!

A: YOU NEED A SUPPORT FOR THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE. No you cannot remove it! No one said this already????

If you remove it then you’ll have to make up a support bar, not hard I did it on my rock crawler CJ7.

Leave it on, and fix it RIGHT. Don’t be cheap and try and hillbilly fix it, it won’t work, and will probably cause more issues (hmm….. like maybe a cracked transfercase? A nice $900 dollar repair).

Q: how can i make my jeep wrangler more fuel efficient?
i have a 2002 jeep wrangler and i love it. but its just so bad on gas. is there anything at all i can do to make it better? i already drive extra careful.

A: feel the same way! tire pressure being correct K&N air filter and hypertech’s econ. i got this for mine and saw a 5 mpg increase. it helps with power too! the only thing that sucks is the price but if you wanna spend it, this helps!

Q: Is it possible to remove the factory subwoofer in a 2007 Jeep Wrangler and replace it with a different sub??
I have the optional subwoofer on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler 2 door. Is it possible to replace that with a different subwoofer and amp USING THE SAME WIRING that is installed for the factory sub.

A: I won’t work on an 01. The stock unit is a different amp than anything after market. You can’t mix and match, won’t sound right. Speakers will heat up and cut out even when volume isn’t that high or it will just sound bad.

Q: Is this alright to do in my 2004 jeep wrangler?
78,000 miles, 2004, jeep wrangler.

Anytime I am at an intersection, and the light turns green, I always like give it full gas so then I am at like 4,000 rpm and going like 30 mph on first gear then the engine adjusts accordingly. Is this alright to constantly do? Or should I just have a smooth increasing acceleration, just not as fast?

A: Smooth increasing acceleration. You will cause things to break eventually by flooring it everywhere. It’s a Jeep not a race car.
