Q: is a 2000 Honda insight a good first car for a 16 year old?
I know it would be expensive up front, but wouldn’t it save me money in the long run? Are there any better pre-owned hybrids around?
A: Yes it is, its a very nice first car actually. It actually wouldnt be to expensive up front, and the better hybrids are honda civic hybrids and accord hybrid(rare), but cheaper would be the Insight, so its really a nice car. Good luck, i hope this helps. 
Q: Can big guys fit in the Honda Insight Comfortably?
I’m a tall, big guy. I really want to get a hybrid car for gas efficiency. I currently drive a 98 hyundai elantra- compact car. Will i still comfortably fit in a 2010 honda isight?
A: My dad is a pretty big (well more like fat) but he manages to drive around a little e class benz. my mom has a prius and it is around the same size. we drove a civic hybrid and he didnt seem to have a problem. i would suggest test driving an insight and a civc hybrid if they still sell them. it would help you out alot.
Q: Did anyone change the oil for the first time on a Honda Insight?
I thought that 0w20 was OK, but at the dealer they said only synthetic, so I paid almost double.

Q: How do you cut off/disconnect the wire that turns on the “check engine” light in a 2002 Honda Insight?

A: go to discount autoparts. Usually guys over there help you check and erease the codes that your car gives out. They might charge $90.00 for it. Instead if you know aanything about the little calculator like gadgets, over at discount auto parts they sell little code readers and eraser for $40-$50. You can do it on your own. They explain everything in the user manuals. Do not take the bulb out…!
Q: How owns a 2010 Honda Insight and what do you think about it?

A: I’ve had a non-nav ex for 1500 miles – The number one thing is that it has slowed my too fast driving down. I’m getting a constant 49mpg going 65 on the hiway.
I am having issues with audio file formatting for the USB input but otherwise all is way cool.
Re-programming things like the auto door locks and self resetting trip a on a fill up took a bit of time with the manual – but the fact that you can adjust these things to your preferences is also GREAT!
PLUS it looks like a hybrid – not a dorky civic.
Q: Should I buy new Honda Insight or second hand BMW 3 series ?

which model of BMW is recommended to buy and the maximum mileage number and also year made ?
A: Depending on the condition, the 3 series will be alot more fun for you and is just a better car any point under 40,000 ish miles give or take a few thousand.
The insight has the MPG but the 3 series gets good enough milage, looks WAY better and the payments will probably be alot easier. If you can comfortably pay for a new car (even a new 3 series) It does wonders for youre credit i think. Definitely the 3 series because its better everywhere but fuel economy, and even at that, it still gets good mpg
Q: Does the Honda Insight ever operate without using gasoline?
I notice that the display sometimes indicates that no power is coming from the engine, yet the tachometer still shows the engine is turning. Does that mean the engine is entirely operating off batteries and no gasoline is being used?
A: What u see is an indicator to help u learn how to maximize vehicle operation. When you are at a stop light or stop sign and u see the light (idle stop) flashing but everything else still works , that’s the only moment were the engine it’s not working with gas. These engine will vary or stop cylinder operation depends on what your demands are, sometimes it’s only running in just one cylinder and when that happens, you will see that the tachometer still shows the engine turning but the display will indicate that the engine is off, but it’s really turning. Fuel consumption is so low that the display panel says that the engine is off. Hope this helps , Good luck!
Q: Where is the engine air filter on a 2010 Honda Insight?
The owners manual simply states, “Have your dealer change your engine air filter.” I would like to change it myself, but I’m not sure where it is. I know it sounds simplistic but I really can’t find the right cover.
A: Black box to the right of the engine cover. It should be self explanatory.
Q: Will a 2010 Honda Insight explode if you shoot the gas tank?
I need to know for reasons.
A: Mythbusters did an episode on igniting a gas tank with bullets and found out that it would not work. The only way to ignite a gas tank with a bullet is to use an incendiary round in a caliber that is larger than what a civilian is legally able to buy.
Q: I have a P1166 check engine light code in a honda insight How can one turn it off without going to a shop?
the code manual says its something with the heating systems. But everything works just fine, including the heater. It is clearly superficial and I cannot get the light to come off despite my efforts with the battery or with a diagnostic computer. Any suggestions? thanks
A: even if you turn it off its going to pop back on so go get it checked
Q: Is the Honda Insight worth getting?
I was wondering if the Honda Insight is worth the purchase. It has phenomenol fuel economy but I am a bit worried about the cost of replacing the battery pack down the road. Any one have any advise?
A: Yes the fuel economy is great. The technology used in this car has since become obsolete. The new Civic Hybrids are much more economical and reliable. You can find these used at a decent price almost everywhere.
